Path Loss Prediction Model Development in a Mountainous Forest Environment

چکیده

We consider a method for developing radio-wave propagation prediction model in mountainous forested area. A new path loss development approach uses free-space (FSPL) and an empirical model. To improve the accuracy, transmission distance, free space area, forest area were calculated separately. obtained distance areas from digital surface (DSM), which represents elevation information, including vegetation object height. In this study, results showed that by combining with FSPL accuracy all models was improved. confirmed calculation of combination better performance than physical distance. The predicted validated using actual radio wave 920 MHz band measurement data. overall improved average 8.05 dB on experimental

Multi-period monitoring and prediction of forest cover loss using logistic regression model in Arasbaran catchments

Knowledge and understanding of changes in forest cover in relation to environmental factors (topography) can be valuable in terms of conservational and protective guidances. The purpose of this study was to identify, quantify and predict deforestation in relation to topographic variables using logistic regression model. The Arasbaran catchments (Naposhtehchay, Ilginehchay and Mardanqumchay) in ...

Study of Propagation Loss Prediction in Forest Environment

A comprehensive review of radio wave attenuation in forest environments is presented in this paper. The classic analytical methods of propagation loss modeling and prediction are described first. This provides information on the physical processes that the radio waves undergo while propagating through a forest. The focus of this paper is on the review and summary of the experimental work done i...

Path Tracking and Localization in Forest Environment

This paper describes an ongoing design and development project of an autonomous pathtracking forest machine. The work is part of a long-term vision in the forest industry of developing an unmanned shuttle that transports timber from the felling area to the main roads for further transportation. The developed prototype system has two modes of operation: Path Learning, in which the human operator...

A Modified Empirical Path Loss Model for 4G LTE Network in Lagos, Nigeria

The quality of signal at a particular location is essential to determine the performance of mobile system. The problem of poor network in Lagos, Nigeria needs to be addressed especially now that the attention is toward online learning and meetings. Existing empirical Path Loss (PL) models designed elsewhere are not appropriate for predicting the 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) signal in Nigeria. T...
